Tulsi Kapoor

$15.00

Tulsi Kapoor Tea- 1.5 oz

One of my personal and all time favorite herbs Tulsi kapoor, also known as Holy Basil is a wonderful herb that is believed to both alert and soothe the nervous system. It is a wonderful adaptogenic that can help to balance the endocrine system and hormones, blood pressure and so many wonderful benefits. I often feel like it gives me an even and natural sense of energy through my days.

What is even better is the amazing flavor of tulsi kapoor, it is somewhere between sweet, spicy (like cinnamon not hot pepper), and bubble gum notes. It is delicious and a must have in my stash of teas!

Shiso is a wonderful anti-inflammatory and has been said to be great for managing common allergies. It has the flavor between basil, mint and anise so it is a wonderful and delicious addition to blend into teas. It turns tea and broth a pretty slightly purple color as well.

We love Shiso!

Fresh Valerian Root

$18.00

Sold out

Only available until October 8th!

This is a chance for you to use Valerian, Valeriana officinalis, fresh for your own preparations you might be interested in making such as tincturing. Most herbs I prefer to tincture with fresh, and this can give you the opportunity to see the plant, and experience it first hand and not just as a dried powdered up herb that many might only be used to seeing it as.

Valerian is a wonderful perennial plant that is excellent for growing in Montana, and there are native varieties, that grow here, but these are farm grown. The beautiful white and pink flowers in the spring smell like vanilla, but then, most folks believe this root when harvested to smell like stinky feet. Fortunately, I do not think it smells like stinky feet and in fact it more makes me think of a spicy vinegar type smell, which is one of my favorite ways to prepare it in an oxymel (vinegar, honey infusion) that I then use in drinks or take a swig before bedtime. Typically used as a gentle sedative to help folks with sleep issues. It also calms the body down, and can help with depressive and anxious episodes that can come from not being relaxed enough.

I hope you enjoy this opportunity to play with this fresh root before I turn the rest of them into a dried powder or tinctures!

*Can be shipped over dry ice
